after seein' Beastie Boy MCA's quality doc Gunnin' for That #1 Spot that was all about The Elite 24 (a newish annual eggzibition basketball game played up at Harlem's famed Rucker Park that features 24 of the country's bestest high school playas), we juss know we had to attend the next game possible, even if our skin color would put us in the 3% minority. and attend we did, last Friday night to be exact (sorry for the delay in postin'). shiz was mad hot (spankfully not temperature-wise), especially since Chauncey Billups and Kenny Anderson were guest coaches, there was a pre-game dunk contest, double dutch jump ropin' at halftime and cheerleaders tossin' out freebie swag at every conceivable break in the game. we gotz to see such up and gunners (read: kids who will be making zillions within a few years time) as Doron Lamb, Dominic Cheek, Derrick Favors, Josh Smith, John Wall, Dexter Strickland and local boy Lance Stephenson play lil defense and slam it all home. we recommend that you join us next year ( did we mention that the game was free?), unless of course yer too busy sitting at home boring yerself to death by watching basebore
